You just got a car and you are wondering …Is it worth getting a tracker in my car?
In this post, you will learn why it is important to have a Gps tracker device installed in your car. We will be using a case study of one of our clients that didn’t see the importance of having a car tracker installed in his new Vehicle.
So to keep our client’s identity anonymous, we will refer to him in this article as Mr. John Doe.
Mr. John got a fairly used Toyota corolla 2005 model and decided to have it registered with a popular Ride-Hailing service provider in Nigeria. He quickly registered it with an insurance company, just like he has always done with all of his vehicles.
He thought to himself; The insurance company will readily give me another car if this car gets stolen or gets involved in an accident. Why would i need a car tracker?
He was very convinced that he doesn’t need the services of a car tracking company and which is quite understandable.
But here is the twist, a vehicle tracker doesn’t only serve as a security device that helps you recover your car when it gets stolen. Rather, a vehicle tracker will give you full control over your car. You can track and monitor position at any time, see all the places the vehicle was driven to, Set Geofence, monitor your driver’s behavior and lots more.
So back to Mr. John Doe’s story.
The vehicle started working with ride-hailing service. The first month was fine. The driver didn’t cause him any trouble neither did he delay in making his weekly payment. Mr. Doe was happy, He reaffirms to himself that It isn’t worth getting a tracker installed in my car.
One Mid-night, Mr. John got a call from the police in Ondo State, requesting him to visit their station in the morning.
He wondered what would have warranted the call. He attempted to query the police officer that called him, but the law enforcement officer declined and insisted he visited their station first thing the following day.
At this time, Mr. John was very confused. After calling all his family members to confirm if any of them is currently in police custody, he decided to check on his uber driver.
To his utmost amazement, the uber driver was the reason the officer called him. Earlier that day, the uber driver had embarked on a journey to Akure in Ondo state.
He did this without the consent of his boss as he had thought he could make fast cash without Mr. John knowing. Perhaps he has been doing this in the past without being caught.
However, luck ran out on him as his passenger was found with marijuana at a ”stop and search” just before they got into Akure. They were both arrested and taken to state headquarters in Akure.
Am sure, you get the picture now. Mr. joe would have averted the troubles he got into if he had installed a tracker in his car.
